Open a shared link in the Brault iPhone app

A Brault shared link opens directly in Brault for iPhone when the app is installed: tap the link in Mail, Messages or Safari and iOS hands it to the app, which shows the shared files in the native viewer. Without the app, or with the link copied to the clipboard, the welcome screen's Open a shared link does the same.

  1. Tap the brault.app link wherever you received it. If Brault for iPhone is installed, the app opens on the shared content; if not, Safari opens the web page and shows a banner to get the app.
  2. If the link is password protected, enter the password the sender gave you.
  3. Browse, preview and, when the link allows it, comment or download. What you can do follows the access level the sender chose; access levels lists them.

You do not need to be signed in to open a shared link, and the link opens in the app even for a brandspace you are not a member of.

  1. Open Brault. On the welcome screen tap Open a shared link.
  2. Paste the link and tap Open. Links to a brault.app address, including brandspace addresses such as studio.brault.app, are recognized; links to other sites are not.
  1. Check that Brault for iPhone is installed and has been opened at least once since installing; iOS registers the link handoff on first launch.
  2. Long-press the link and choose Open in Brault if Safari offers it.
  3. If Safari keeps opening, copy the link and use Open a shared link on the app's welcome screen. That path always works.

Only the sender can extend an expired link or share its password. Ask them for a new link; the app shows the same message the web page shows, so nothing is wrong on your side.
