Sharing a folder creates a public link with one of four access levels, from browsing only to letting your client upload their own files. You set it all from the folder's Share dialog, no separate tool needed.
Turn on the shared link
- Select the folder in your workspace. Select only the folder, not any files alongside it: you can share one folder at a time.
- Right-click the folder (or use the selection toolbar) and choose
Share. You need manage access on the folder for this option to appear. - In the Share dialog, open the
Shared linktab. - Turn on the
Generate shared linktoggle. It changes to "{folder name} is online" once the link is live.
Choose what your client can do
Click the permission chip next to the link, it shows the current level, like View + download, to open the access stepper and pick one:
Only view: browse the files, nothing to download.View + download: browse and download.Review: download, plus comment and leave timestamped feedback. Can upload: everythingReviewdoes, plus adding their own files.
Each level includes everything the one before it allows. See What can visitors do with each access level? for the full breakdown.
Copy the link and send it
Click Copy link and paste it into an email or message. The link opens straight to the folder; your client never needs a Brault account.
Set an expiration (optional)
Under Link expiration, Lite plan and above, pick 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or a custom date so the link stops working on its own. Useful for a one-off review that shouldn't stay open.
Adjust what visitors see (optional)
Under Visitor experience, you can show or hide file versions and file properties, and set whether the folder opens for visitors in presentation, grid, or list view.
If you'd rather give access to one specific person instead of a public link, use the Users tab in the same dialog to invite them by email with a role.
Turning it off
Reopen the Share dialog and turn the Shared link toggle off. The link stops working immediately.
