How do I switch between board views?

Last updated: August 5, 2026

The view picker sits in the board toolbar, right after the board name. It shows the view you are in, and clicking it lets you switch to either of the other two.

Switch the view

  1. Open the board.
  2. In the toolbar, click the button just after the board name. It shows the current view's icon and name.
  3. Pick Gallery, Kanban, or Table. Each row explains what the view is for, and the one you are in carries a check mark.

The board redraws immediately. Nothing about the files changes.

What Brault remembers

Your choice is saved per board, in the browser you are using. Open that board again on the same browser and it comes back in the view you left it in.

Two consequences worth knowing:

  • Your view is yours. A producer can work a board in kanban while a retoucher works the same board in gallery. Neither one changes what the other sees.
  • A different browser or a new device starts fresh. It opens in the default view until you pick one there.

Which view a board opens in the first time

A board you have never opened in this browser, including a board you just created, opens in gallery. Pick any other view once and your preference takes over from then on.

Group by builds the kanban columns, so it only makes sense there. It stays in the toolbar in kanban and is hidden in the other two views.

Filters and search are different: they work in all three views, and the filter you set carries across when you switch.

If the picker is not there

  • You are on a published board. Boards shared through a public link always show as kanban to visitors, with no picker.
  • You are in the files area, not on a board. The picker belongs to boards. Folders have their own presentation, grid, and list layouts.
